Meet the Provider: John McCollum

We’re proud to have John as a member of our Coolspa team! John is a registered aesthetic nurse specialist with the experience and eye for detail to provide you with superior results. 

John McCollum

Prior to John’s time as a registered nurse, he developed his skills working for luxury brands in client services and retail business development. This experience adds to his special skills in communication and patient care. John entered the field of medical aesthetics as a surgical coordinator for leading New York plastic surgeon Dr. David P. Rapaport, MD. Here he developed his passion for patient care and education, inspiring him to pursue his education as a registered nurse. John also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French. 

Upon achieving licensure as a nurse, John approached Dr. Rapaport to pursue an intensive hands-on training program in cosmetic injectables and non-invasive rejuvenation treatments. John’s experience in medical aesthetics now spans nearly a decade, including both administrative and clinical responsibilities. He combines his background in luxury service with his focused nursing experience in plastic surgery to make him a uniquely capable medical provider. John is currently completing his Master of  Science in Nursing to become a nurse practitioner specializing in primary adult care.

What’s your go-to workout?: Cardio of any kind, like running
What’s your favorite show at the moment?: Don’t judge me; it’s Bachelor in Paradise right now. I’m addicted to it. 
What’s your favorite vacation spot?: The place I’ve been to the most is probably Mexico
What’s your favorite treatment to receive?: Usually Botox, but lately, it’s been Juvederm SkinVive.
What’s your favorite treatment to provide?: I really like doing technical procedures like undereye filler or nonsurgical rhinoplasty. 
What’s your favorite animal?: My favorite animal is an octopus. I have a tattoo of one on my arm. 
What kind of music do you like?: Usually, I listen to a lot of international music, especially from Spain and Brazil. 
What’s your idea of a perfect night?: Staying at home, watching something on Netflix, drinking a glass of wine, doing my skincare, taking a hot shower, and sleeping early.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself: I actually have five degrees, including a nursing degree.
